AVIEMORES OLDEST TRADITIONAL INN SITUATED IN THE HEART OF THE CAIRNGORM NATIONAL PARK
The Winking Owl
Has been established as an Inn since the 16th Century. The new Inns construction was ordered by James Grant of Grant in 1765. It is Aviemores’ oldest building and its oldest Inn. Its original measurements were 42 feet in length by 22 feet in width. There were two parlours downstairs with bedrooms and powder closet above.

On the 3rd September 1787 Robbie Burns stayed here on his tour of the Highlands.

Today’ The Winking Owl’ prides itself on being the oldest traditional pub in Aviemore serving locally produced Real Ales from the Cairngorm Brewery, a large selection of Malt Whisky and a varied home produced menu ranging from snacks to main meals including our world renown Steak and Stag pie.

On the ground floor we have a state of the art club bar called 2 Hoots here with the latest sound and light system where you can dance the night away.

Today The Winking Owl is run by Jon and Gail Hume with the assistance of Local friendly staff who are always trying to ensure your visit is memorable.
